The What, The Why & The Who

The What

Ethical Law is a social enterprise legal practice, providing accessible and affordable legal consultancy services for social enterprises (Socents), Not-for-Profits (NFPs), and other local, social, emerging and community-based businesses, helping to bridge the access-to-justice gap that faces many socially-minded organisations, and placing your business on a level playing field with your competitors, suppliers, and clients.

Combining experience from the corporate world to the non-profit sector, Ethical Law can tailor solutions for your organisation's needs to help ensure your business is well-placed from a legal perspective.

The Why

Vision

Mission

A level legal-playing field for all organisations, regardless of their resources; enabling a better world through the increased success of community and arts businesses and those focused on social issues.

To provide affordable legal consultancy services for Not-for-Profits (NFPs), social enterprises (socents), and other local, social, emerging and community businesses.

Why? (The issue we are trying to address)

Smaller and under resourced organisations (particularly those with a social goal) often do not have as much ease of access or confidence in accessing legal services, even for (relatively) basic and simple legal things.

This can be due to lack of resources, not knowing what issues to prioritise with professional legal assistance, or not having access to affordable services that are directed at the right industry.

There is a particular gap area of Socents having low access to quality legal services due to lack of sufficient funds to access traditional legal services and reduced access to pro bono legal services that are often reserved for NFPs.

Ethical Law is working to resolve these issues through its mission.

Ethical Law is a social enterprise itself, based on the “better for you” model, by increasing the ability of having a successful, effective and efficient Socent or NFP.
